RADEON 9700 now the best

The way I see it. you cares if the 9700 aren't Direct X 9 compliant. DirectX 8 games have just started to be released. At this rate, there will have been 1 or 2 more cards released before DirectX 9 games come out. So does DirectX 9 really matter at the moment?

ATi makes a superior card, face the facts, they look better, they may be slower, but they are alot better looking and they have better quality. Think of it this way if you were to buy a CD burner, would you buy the 40X drive that made a coaster every other CD that is burned, or would you buy the 32X burner that made a complete CD every time??

So in the end i guess you could say that ATI radeon 9700 is real king... and thats the end of it for now...

But when the NV30 cards come out, how will the Radeon 10000 and 9500 stack up???

as is right now the 9700 should retail around october...

The 8500 is/was meant to compete w/ the GF3. And it smokes it. Pure and simple. 'nuff said.

Secondly, there is/was no 'competing' product for the GF4 from ATI, since ATI has a less agressive product lifecycle.

Thirdly, unless either company releases a vidcard at the exact same time, using the same version of directx, with the exact same architecture, then we are comparing apples to oranges. The winner of the 'best video card' goes to what is fastest/best TODAY.

Bottom line, from now until 2003, the R300 rules the roost.
