Radeon 8500 - hangups!

Does anyone use a Radeon 8500 in their system?

I have one running on a ECS K7S5A motherboard under XP Pro. When I run games like Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Serious Sam 2 and also the 3D screensavers from the XP Plus Pack the system will just lock up anything from a few seconds to a few minutes!!!!

I am using the latest drivers from the ATI website and also the latest AGP drivers from ECS.

I'm still using the 6025 drivers without any problems (even in Return to Castle Wolfenstein). I got the Catalyst driver downloaded but I refuse to install it since I hear nothing but problems with them. You can check Radeon Rage3D for "tips and tricks."

Right, fixed now! I downloaded the beta drivers from Rage3D and after installing them played Serious Sam 2 all night without a single lock up
