do i get 184 pin ram or what?!?!??!?! i dont know what to get for my msi board.
try describing your mother board (ie... model number???)... 168 pins = sdram, 184 = ddram
you could also try reading the manual??? or checking the manufacturers website, or counting the pins in the slot...
Well it would be good to know what board you have. Have you looked at the manual?
eh i just went with crucial 512ddr pc2700
it better work.
i got msi k7t266 pro2-a mobo
should be fine according to the specs listed on this page here.
you ordered PC2700, and the core is KT266. the max ram you can support is PC2100. it will still work, but it will just be slower speeds.
That's not necessarily a bad thing though. At least in the future if you build a new computer, there is a chance you can swap some ram over.
how much slower will it run
Not greatly slower, the difference usually will not be seen between PC2100 and pc2700 ram...
