Question about Partition Magic

Okay heres how my current partitions are set up

I got a Western Digital 40 gig (C: drive partition containing windows XP) and a Diamond Maxtor 8.4 gig (D: drive storing MP3s, applications, ect.) and both partitions are NTFS... Is there a way without formatting either drive to use partition magic to allocate lets say 3 or 4 gigs off of my 40 gig to another partition, convert that partition to fat 32 and install Windows Me or another operating system along those lines and dual boot... Without formatting....

Make the two floppy disks for partition magic. Reboot into the bios. Make the floppy boot first. Then boot with disk 1 in the floppy. When instructed put in disk two.

Hipster, you can do it from within Windows itself ... PM will automatically reboot once you make the changes and make the changes.
Mr. Ass, basically:
1) Resize C: and make it 3-4 GB less
2) Create new partition with the free space thus gained
3) Apply changes

Partition Magic will reboot and perform all the necessary changes.

Yeah I know. I just like doing it from outside the windows environment. I trust it more that way.

Yes, after the new partition is created, convert to FAT32. All these changes can be done in the Windows environment in one session. The instructions will be stored in a batch file, PM will reboot and do all the necessary changed.

If you think you haven't understood how to do something, you can read the PDF manuals and help file that come with PM. Just follow those and you should be okay.

okay im convinced now its time to obtain PM.. lol kazaa here i come.... *winks*

LOL and i must say after "obtaining" Partition Magic I am very pleased with the results.. Tommorow I may mess around with dual booting.. Hehe

Be careful on how you say, *OBTAINING* around here. People are watching... :p

Especially mods with their gonaads being slashed. That's gotta hurt.

What is that by the way??

Look out for brush fires then.

Did you see 'Babies Day Out?' Look out someone might come along & put it out for ya, with their steel cap boots.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
