Hey guys I have a bit of a problem, As you know Im deployed, and one of the guys I am working with has a problem.. it is as follows:

He has a PST file which he needs to convert from XP Pro outlook version to 2002 file format...

I did a google and found a microsoft conversion fix called pfbackup

However, he said for whatever reason that did not work.

Is there another way to do the conversion? All he needs to do is add that PST file so that the user can open the emails of the previous person.

Need help on this FAST... Reps as always...

    Thanks,

    Mike

Uh - can't you open it in the new Outlook, and then manually transfer all the files to a new .PST?

Both files should be compatible anyways, not sure why he can't open them. BUT, as I was saying, go to File, Open, Outlook Data File and browse to the OLD .PST. Then, create a new .PST, drag and drop.

look for exmerge, its predominantly an exchange tool for exporting mailboxes to pst files but it also goes pst to pst and pst to mailbox.

i used it in a DR solution a while back but cant remember the URL.

    good luck D

do it by Importing the old PST into a new 2002 PST.
