Problems getting PC to Boot

i have a home built c with an amd 5600 and m2n sli delux mobo. i am trying to get it to post but been unsuccessful. i have taken out the hdd video memory and cd-rom. the cpu fan turns on but no beep errors. ia also removed the cmos but change in results. anything else i can do before i chuck it? oh and ive tried multiple PSU ranging from 400w to 550w.

was going to use it as a media pc.

Is it in a case? Take it out and build it on a non conductive surface to make sure you don't have a short.
