Any precautions I should take (backups, restore points, etc)?

I don't normally ever mess with them.

First off, what's the harm in having a backup? The day will come when you'll wish you had.

As for sp-1, it's safe - go ahead and install it.

You can find some precautions to make in this post .
A restore point will be created automatically during installation, and you will be asked if you want to backup the old files to make SP1 uninstallable. Take that option, you can get rid of these files later if everything works fine. In most cases everything works fine btw.
Last point if possible get the full "network"install and don't do the express install. You can then make a slipstream cd which will be usefull if you use SFC, add Windows components or reinstall.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
