PowerVR Series 5 chips will support Pixel Shader 3.0 and Vertex Shader 3.0 in hardware. In case the chip is physically launched in 2003, PowerVR may be in a position to offer the first graphics processor with Pixel Shader 3.0 and Vertex Shader 3.0 support
Nice and all but I really dont think Nvidia and ATI will be unseated anytime soon.
Rest of story here xbitlabs

Cheers for the info :)

In the future would you hit the "Submit News" on the main page :)

Would be very useful then the news would hit almost everyone that comes to NTFS.org

who knows :)

neither ati nor nvidia products have current silicon that does ps/vs 3.0... :) and are unlikely to have such silicon till later this year/early next year... depends on hte next ogl standard...

the power of the gpu and the way it processes information could well be key..

I just would like for another company to step up and hand it to ati and nvidia... == lower prices @ better performance for us :D

a parhelia type product could be painful...

parhelia == fabulous IQ and the best 2d in the business.. excellent workstation card...tri-head display setup possible... BUT its too expensive... too slow @ 3d apps... and definitely a generation behind ati/nvidia @ this stage... and matrox has little money to come up with a new and better solution right now...

I think they might have this technology in the wings and are doing a wait and see.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
