is it ok to build PostgreSQL with the make threadsafe option ?
Defaults should work perfectly. Don't mess with it.
/me wonders off to recompile - so you wouldnt even tick optimized_cflags ? (which isnt by default)
I generally don't, it can cause some weird issues.
I've got a few servers running with threadsafety turned on, but thats mainly because at the time I was trying to write a program which was going to need threading and also talk to Postgres. In the end I found another solution. Doesn't seem to have harmed the server though.
testing 7.0 beta4 so compiled it without the extra options
