PostgreSQL 8.2.x - threadsafe ?

    is it ok to build [SIZE=-1]PostgreSQL with the make threadsafe option ?[/SIZE]

    Defaults should work perfectly. Don't mess with it.

    /me wonders off to recompile - so you wouldnt even tick optimized_cflags ? (which isnt by default)

    I generally don't, it can cause some weird issues.

    I've got a few servers running with threadsafety turned on, but thats mainly because at the time I was trying to write a program which was going to need threading and also talk to Postgres. In the end I found another solution. Doesn't seem to have harmed the server though.

    testing 7.0 beta4 so compiled it without the extra options
