Possible IE 6 problem?

All today I have not been able to log into sites that use a secure server. Take my bank for example, I can get onto my banks website but cant login, instead I get the "The page cannot be displayed" bulls@~t. I am also not able to sign into MSN messenger. Any ideas?

BT has issues today, 1st no mail servers, then about 10 cannot connect errors were published on there freephone update line 0800 1690199

chance is its the after effects of that.
