audigy 2 snafu

All I can add is there are so many drivers for creative it'll drive you nutty trying to find the correct one but heres something to go with,
youll have to nail down the exact Card.
1. AUDIGY 2 ZS PLATINUM PRO 2. audigy2 gamer 3. AUDIGY 2 ZS
4. AUDIGY 2 PLATINUM eX 5. AUDIGY 2 6. usb AUDIGY 2 NX
7. AUDIGY 2 VALUE
probably n/a because its for a notebook: 8. Audigy 2 ZS notebook
all of these have different drivers.
And from experience the Audigy 2 has a known issue. The Audigy 2 zs was creatives answer to that issue. And there are still problems getting the drivers that correctly work with the 2 and 2 ZS cards.
The drivers that are listed below are the ones that creative recommends for the fix.

I went through this one time as well, new drivers, reinstalls, cooling, kept reposting on the site about only gaming freezing, etc,etc.

It actually turned out to be that my machine was overclocked. Kermit the Frog pointed that out to me. It could be what your situation might be. Overclocked.
