    PayPal Targeted by Scam Artists

    A new round of attacks by online criminals is being directed at online payments service PayPal this week, including e-mails that inform account holders they need to re-enter their credit card data because "we had some trouble with one of our computer systems."


    The scam appears to be aimed at harvesting PayPal (Quote, Chart) account numbers, passwords and credit card data from unsuspecting users of the online service, based in Mountain View, Calif. The scam e-mail, slugged "URGENT: PayPal Account Update," that has been going around this week starts off by saying:

    Don't think this is anything new, deleted 2 from my mailbox this morning and when I check my mail when I get home I will doubtless have more.

    yeah, another paypal/ebay/bank phishing thing. Deleted a paypal one myself today (in fact it was throught osnn mail and cc's EP, so that was givea way)

    I got one asking me to update my credit card information about a week ago. But that one was legit as my credit card is about to expire. ;)

    paypal has always and will always be targeted. This is hardly new news?

    Yea I have gotten like 5 emails in the past week, I never even bother to read them, just delete them.
