Can anyone tell me why (Outlook Express) continually displays the incorrect number of deleted items in it’s email (deleted) folder. This has been a problem since the first version and as I’ve just updated to XP service pack one it’s not been addressed!!!

If they can’t get this right what’s going to happen with the serious issues?

It is probably reading unread deleted mail.

I don't have that problem. I just deleted my email (all one of them) & it came back saying zero.

But it is displaying what is in the folder. Delete the contents & you get zero.

Dave -the only time my deleted folder has a number behind it is when there is an unread message in the folder that I deleted without opening it.

If you have read all the messages in the deleted folder, there will not be a number behind the folder.

Likewise when you delete all messages from the deleted folder, including that one "unread message" then there is no longer a number behind the deleted folder.

I must use this logic in another thread.
