Outlook 2002 problem sending attachments

When I try to email's with attachments like pictures they hang in the outbox and cause the internet connection to disconnect.
I was having this problem before and started using the Earthlink mail program instead of outlook.

Since then I have done a full install of XP pro SP2 and do not want to load the Earthlink program.

I have TrendMicro Internet secutity with firewall. (outgoing mail scan off)

All other incoming and outgoing email seems ok like I can receive pictures.

I will be gratefull for any ideas to solve this problem.

That sounds like you need to call Earthlink and ask them. It could be a number of things ..

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do earthlink. If I use any other email program or web mail I can send attachments. Is there a setting in Outlook that restricts content or size limits?
What about the firewall settings. Can they have something to do with it?

Outlook does screw with some things. Sometimes the macro settings are farced and there is no way to fix it, atleast I haven't found a way yet. That is the reason I quit using it (It wouldn't allow me to recieve attachments). I just went back to outlook express. If you only use it for just email and nothing else, I wouldn't even use outlook.

did this do it before you had the antivirus installed ??

I have had the antivirus software for a long time (1+ year) and I have only had the attachment problem for around 4 months.
