Hey everyone. I'm not too keen on Apple computers so I figured I'd ask in here for some opinion on this certain Apple iBook I'm looking at (a cheap alternative to save my new laptop while on the tour).

What I'm look at is this:
Apple iBook G3 500MHz M6497 notebook. Pre-installed components include an Apple G3 500MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, 30GB hard drive, has Mac OS X10 2.8 pre-installed and a CD-ROM drive.

Specifications:
OS: Mac OS X10 2.8
Processor Class: G3
Processor Speed: 500Mhz
Memory Size: 256MB
Capacity: 30GB
Optical Drive Type: CD-Rom

Includes integrated wireless lan as well as RJ-11, 45 and 2 USB ports.

I'm only really going to need this to use Adobe Photoshop, Word processing and Instant Messaging/Internet. If anyone has any opinions at all (hopefully good) please post them. I really want to know if it's worth buying this cheap laptop to keep my new one from biting the dust earlier than it should.

One other quick question. Does anyone know of a external harddrive that works with a Apple laptop? Or will any device work?

Thanks in advance.

You may find photoshop a bit sluggish on a G3, also if you intend on using it day-to-day, you'll likely need more ram (The more the merrier), other than that though, it's a decent little machine.

Also any external HDD should work.

Any of the SP crew still out there?
