    Is there a way to create a keyboard control for controlling the volume on a notebook as the only control is the one in the taskbar, i.e. CTRL+ALT+Q to increase and CTRL+ALT+A to decrease.

    This would probably require a third-party app. I know with winamp you could map buttons to it's volume control, not sure about a system wide approach.
