During installationof winxp i get the following message: ntfs.sys is damaged. any key to continue. then installation failed.
thank you for your help.

Hi, is this a upgrade or clean install? I could not find referances to this error during setup however:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=228888

You may be better off copying the files from I386 off the cd to a temp dir and starting setup with the winnt -s <source> switch

Start install and partition from dos:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;307848

As its occuring during setup its probablly caused by a bad copy operation or a fault on the disk, use chkdsk or simular to ensure the disk is probblem free.

Its a clean setupon raid-0 system. winxpprofessional(sp1).

Try swapping the ram in your machine, or taking some out if possible and try running setup again.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
