John:

Got a real problem with this f(*(ing computer. I have not been able to get my USB CD-RW to work even after spending 3 hours with Roxio. So I ended up trying to remove all references to Roxio and going back with HP. Bad mistake, now I don't have any USB devices. I tried removing all of the drivers and letting Windows reinstall them. It didn't work. I checked all of the drivers that I needed using the other system (WinME) and they all work on that system except for the CD-RW (may have a bad unit there). I put all the drivers where they belong on the hard drive, started W2K again and still no USB devices are being seen, but the universal USB Unknown device is being installed. Before this happened, I had about 5 different USB devices in device manager and all were working. I then tried to reinstall W2K and I still don't have any USB drivers and now if I don't leave my Office XP disk in all the time, the computer is constantly trying to install something. Anyway, I got some of the events that are logged and I am attaching them to this file. Have any ideas?

Bobby

I'd say he whacked his registry pretty good. If i were a tech and i had a customer that did something this this, i'd tell them to back up what they can't afford to lose, then i'd do a ctrl+alt+format. Who knows what all is missing and where, these are just the errors windows is catching.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
