i got a motherboard from my uncle about 3 days ago and it worked and everything, i decided to clean it and all. now when it is started up it says that there is no dram installed. dram. is that teh ram attached to the MOBO or is it the SDRAM chips that you can add

it is an asus K7V mobo and i have e-mail asus about it but they take a long time to reply

DRAM

If you noticed in your own post SDRAM has DRAM in it.
It's telling you that your RAM is not installed correctly or it could be dead.

How did you clean it?

Cleaning reccomendations VACUME/Air Can only.
You can also use Isopropal Alcohol (Pretty safe on electronics)
Never scrub with anything more abrasive then cotton.

I reccomend only cleaning with vacume and air cans.

You can get some good SDRAM on www.pricewatch.com
This board will use the PC 133, besides PC100 costs more anyway, and is slower Random Access Memory err RAM.

Hope this helps

it was only cleaned with a compressed air can and a vacume but i took out the old video card and put in a gforce 4 and it works now.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
