    i've been playing with Javascript a little
    and added this to my links bar
    javascript:void(q=prompt('What%20do%20you%20want%20to%20Search,%20MeFo%20?','')); if(q)void(location.href='http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=ISO-8859-1&q='+escape(q))

    will put a nice window where you can search
    just try adding it to your address bar and check out what it does

    Pretty sweet idea. Works nicely.
    I have my IE setup so i can prefix a url in the address bar with G and it will do a google search, e.g. "g windows xp" in the IE address bar will search Google for 'windows xp' :)

    using Microsoft's PowerToys
    pop it open, then click onto Internet Explorer on the left
    then click search from the sub-option
    Next click the create button
    put g in the prefix box and http://www.google.com/search?q=%s in the URL box
    Click OK then OK again, and you should be set :)

    I've made a reg file for those who dont want to get/install power toys.
    Simply download then double click the file, then pre-fix your search query with 'g' in the url bar
    e.g. "g Windows XP"
