Yeah, shame on you! Adobo and I never do that kind of stuff.

Re: FU** IT Button

LOL...I Want that! Where did you get it? Hmmm..Maybe I'll check Cyberguys.com

And kcthatsme, welcome. There truly are a bunch of great people here.

And everybody else, I solved my XP woes. Finally got a clean install of XP and mated it with a P4 on the I850 chipset of an ASUS P4T-E board and it's all over but the party now. Said goodbye to BSOD's, instability, and every other bad thing :) This motherboard is in a word AWESOME!!!

Where is the "no novice" for advanced stuff only rule posted?

Does not really sound like friendly advice. Sounds like got your soap box out from under the bed!

Since your so up on XP, heres a challange for you that MS cant fix yet, although they have several things you can try.

How do you fix the 720 dial up error some people get when upgrading from W2K pro, to XP pro? Deleting the tcpip registy entry and rebooting with the XP cd and using the F8 repair does not work! Rebuilding the Dial up connections under XP, does not work, removing the the Legacy tags for tcpip does not work.

hope this isnt too basic for you

No offense dude, but I think you should get down with a cup of coffee and read "Windows XP for dummies" then "Internet Explorer for dummies". Everything you asked is so basic that it is stuff you should learn to get on your own. I'm not being mean, but you'll never learn if you keep asking this kind of basic questions. Learn to get the info yourself. These boards are supposed to be for more "advanced" stuff, or problems that can't be easily found.

Another thing, learn to use the search function on this board (in the bar on top).

Just giving you a friendly advice, don't take it personal.

My advice to newbies is always the same: buy or steal GoBack, get somebody who knows what they are doing to install it and then forget about f**King up your PC while you learn. (System Restore ain't bad, but GoBack can be used on the boot. It has saved my butt so many times, I can't count.)

GoBack

He Elaine where can I get this GoBack!

I want to save my BUTT too!

rperre you're better off getting xp tweaked out then making an image with ghost or drive image then just backing up your personal data on a cdrw...alot easier and more reliable. I just don't trust go back or anything else from roxio.

I'll try both and see, I haven't gotten to figure out that ghost thing yet

Thanks for the info though

pleassssssssss!!!

Hey MOM ZEE!
I think you've learned to much on your own. Go somewhere and write a computer novel. And as you say don't take this personal.
On the other hand you could show us your copy of your deed to the internet.

The internet is where a bunch of people get together to bitch about movies and trade porn with each other.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
