can someone tell me if i can setup a connection from my computer to one at work over the internet so i can do work from home out the files there? I feel sure there is a way, but i'm not much of an expert on networking. I'm fairly computer literate in other areas so if it is explained i can probably set it up.

I think what you want to do is research VPN (Virtual Private Networking) a good bit, it may answer some of your questions.

    Yes and No.

Yes, you can access another PC using VNC ( just to name one ). You could also use VPN but this requires access to be set up by your employer. The problem with VNC is that you will have to have the destination PC on a REACHABLE IP address. If your PC at work sits on an internal network then chances are that you can forget that idea. Good luck.
