OK I don't know if this is possible or not, but I want to be able to log into a Novell Netware server through Windows, but only on demand. I don't want to use Novell Client as my primary login screen (i want the welcome screen). The other problem is that my Novell username and password is different then my Windows username and password. If I use Windows' Client Service for Netware both the windows and Netware names must be the same.

Is it possible to authenticate to a Netware server with login information and a client totally independent of Windows?

Not that I know of. you will still have to add the netware logon in network properties to see any of the system drives and folders and say goodbye to the regular XP logon screen. If you want you can change your username and pswd on the network side to match your XP info or vice versa

As far as aunthenticating to a Netware server and using a client totally independent of windows. I would have to say no. sorry:)

But see if this helps you JJB:)
