Is there a safe way of using NetSend? I would like to use it so I can send messages to people on the network. However I don't know how to contain it so it just for our network.

you may wish to disable port 135 if you have an appropriate firewall. this may stop access to other DCOM related services though. udp port 1026 would be a good bet too

There really is no such thing as a "safe" netsend. Netsend is designed to be sent and received from any machine. There are no checks in the system. If you do allow Netsends, I recommend that you follow the advice above to prevent message spamming from outside your network.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
