need more than 4 EIDE channels??

Go SCSI that's how I solve the lack of IDE and it is faster.
i don't think we al have or want to spend $500+ just for faster harddrive performance. especially when cooperman's and adek's boards already have extra ide solutions.

adek.. make sure your onboard raid is enabled and go into windows normally. look in device manager and see if it is detected and if there are any errors on it. if so, try getting the latest drivers for it. once it's fixed, then you can hook your harddrives up to it and it should work fine. let us know.

Well i finaly got around to trying the suggestions and here is my results.
I enabled the onboard raid and installed the raid drivers in Windows XP.
I then moved both of my hard drives to one of the raid IDE channels and have got 1 x CDRW as master on IDE0 with my other CDRW as master on IDE1 and DVD as slave on IDE1.
Then on boot up i entered the raid setup and enabled which drive was to be booted from on the raid channel.

HEY PRESTO !!
I can now use both HDD's with both CDRW's and my DVD with no problems. I can also still add 2 more HDD's and a DVDRW as well when i manage to buy one.

BTW can anyone recommend the best DVDRW to buy? do i go for one that does DVD+RW or DVD-RW or is there a DVDRW that can do both formats??

I didnt realise that raid channels could be used for normal use of HDD's without enableing a raid array.

Thanks to all that replied to my post.
I am now a happy bunny.

Any of the SP crew still out there?
