setting up a "true" VPN means doing stuff that you probably cant control (like setting up tunnels through every computer/ router between you and them). If you (really) know how to hack, it is possible: though I STRONGLY DO NO RECOMEND THIS [IMG]

best alternative: kazaalite, or FileShare http://bbn.datakill.com/
I think FileShare (which has a client and a server program) allows you to set up which servers to connect to & you could possibly set it up to each others servers & share files.
NOTE: I personally dont use windows or this application. I've just read about it. now if you were using UNIX there's some really good ways of doing that securely. oh well.

here, i downloaded this off the net a while ago. tells you how to create a VPN server. it's pretty easy. you HAVE to have XP Pro to do it!!...another idea is to set up a FTP server. GuildFTP is a good program and fairly easy to use.

    good luck
