Need for Speed!

Hey Guys...

Excuse my ignorance. I have cable modem through the local cable provider here. I honestly don't know the up/down speeds, but it seems alright. My questions are a) how can I tell how fast I am connecting, and b) is there anything I can do to increase my speed connect to the web? I am running Win XP Home and have a Toshiba Cable Modem. Let me know your thoughts.....

http://computingcentral.msn.com/internet/speedtest.asp This is a Bandwidth meter... There are plenty more on the internet as well...

After you check your speed at http://www.bandwidthplace.com , check out their forum. Theres a section called cable modem tweaking, and then "My Tips"
lots of good info.
