I stay away from VIA chipsets personally, I have never had a good time with one yet.

I use and swear by Asus. And I use AMD CPu's.

Like anything it depends on your budget.

Anyway heres a new board and its a champion but its dual processor !

Theres a index there to have a look at some single CPU boards

I am running an ASUS p4t, an ASUS p4t-e, an ASUS CUSL-2, and 2 ASUS p4b's. They have never let me down, Obviously, if you want to run an AMD chip, these boards won't work for you but I highly recommend ASUS for whatever chip you choose.

I agree. I've run the gambit on motherboards (MSI I'll never buy again because I had on that just died for no apparent reason and it was an issue that MSI knows about and admits to), but for the money, ASUS is definately where I'd put my investment.

I'm pretty pleased with my Tyan unit. Although my particular one may be out of the price range, they have a good line. Can't beat Athlons either.

I don't quite know what pounds convert to but my next board, coming soon will be either a Epox or Shuttle... The kt266a is probably the one Via exception...
