ok need some opinions on this.

i have hte ability to move to a raid of 2 seagate SATA 2 drives that are NCQ and right now i am running a raid of 2 normal sata 1 drives NON NCQ.

is it worth the upgrade for speed? is it noticable in the stripe?

you may see improvements from ncq and sata2's wider bus but i don't think it would be worth the cost if your current drives work ok (speed/size wise)

From what I have seen in benchmarks I actually think NCQ itself hurts raw performance. In a multiuser environment it helps with IO's per second but in raw MB/s in a single user environment I think the non NCQ drives are better. I could be wrong though, this is just what I think I remember.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
