    Hi guys ..

I found this in my event viewer today.

    Source: MRxSmb
    Error ID: 8003
Description: The master browser has received a server announcement from the computer ANTHONY-B3LHACK that believes that it is the master browser for the domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{46E4B0A7-6B2. The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

I remember there is a workabout on this issue, by turning off one of the machine to annouce that it is the master browser. But can't remember how it is done. Can anyone teach me please? For Win98, Win2K and preferably on WinXP too.

    Many thanks!! : )

You dont really need to worry about this error.

If however you want to stop it from occuring open regedit and go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters\

    Set IsDomainMaster to FALSE
    Set MaintainServerList to FALSE

    Also read: http://tinyurl.com/2gnvc

    A bit on Error 8003 at microsoft.com.
