Movie Creator - Good Software?

Hey,

I have a digital video camera hooked up to my computer via IEEE 1394 (I think thats right... ) Anyways, I would like to put this video on my pc, edit it (I wanna cut some scences out, maybe fade in/out, add text to the bottem of the screen, stuff like that... nothing too complicated) Anyone can recommend good software for this? Since I have no experience in this, it would be better if the software was easy to use. Thanks!

If u want to do simple stuff and just transfer the movie back to the DV-cam or save it as a WMV file, you could just use Windows Movie Maker 2. It's really easy to use for simple stuff.

I guess i forgot to say, i tried windows movie maker 2, terrible software. i hate it, any other suggestions?

Ummm ... Adobe Premiere - top of the line, but expensive and a steep learning curve.
