I'm sure the answer is here, but I don't know what I'm looking for is called.

I'm a pro audio user and have this horrendous problem with XP. Whenever i am using my audio apps, if i mouse over something, it says "win rar file 56.8kb" or whatever. Or for example, if I put my mouse over the smilies up above in this "post new thread" page, it says "angry" "wink" and so on and so forth. Well, everytime this happens my audio either clicks, or pops, or stutters. So i essentially need it to go away.

I tried a few of the tweaks listed by the site. the comments registry tweak and another one(can't remember what it was called) and rebooted... they didn't solve the problem.

Any ideas on what to do? If you'd like to make it simple, just tell me this is called, and I'll do the searching myself. :)

Hi BTW, my name is dex. i'm new here.

Hello and welcome.......

Just about all of my audio problems went away when installed more memory. At present I have 768 meg but 512 would more than likely do. I started with 256 and that is just enough to get XP running.

So how much memory do you have? Also what are the specs on your system, this information can help others to give you hints on how to fix you problem...

Its not about my computer specs.... Thanks tho.

its about the little popup boxes XP has and my sound card not agreeing with them.

For an example, place your mouse pointer over something on this page... it'll say "search" or "user cp" in a little box. That box, which I am positive can be disabled, needs to go. I just don't know what it is I need to disable.

click pop stutter clang = annoying. I know its this problem, cuz it ONLY ever happens when i mouseover something.

I know its a registry key i need to get rid of, tho... i don't know which one.

actually I think you can do it in TweakUI... under Taskbar uncheck enable ballon tips... :D

In Windows Explorer and on the desktop you can switch off tooltips in folder options - view tab - advanced settings. Many other application also have an option somewhere whether to display tooltips or not. Don't know if there is a setting in Internet Options. The tooltips here are coded in the particular site.
Still think Tinker's suggestion is worth considering. You won't tell us how much ram you have?

Actually PK, those are just the balloon tips on the task bar.

my pc

p4 2.0a
intel 845 board
1.gb of ram
sb audigy platinum ex
ge force 2
windows xp

Ok, obviously not the ram. :D However such a system should be able to handle these little tooltips and play sound without interruptions, if everything is configured correctly. Not one of our resident sound specialists though.

its just a conflict.... i've heard of this happening with other peoples computers too. XP+bubbles+audigy or delta = evil

if one removes the text bubbles... all is well.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
