I need to update the bios for my motherboard. The problem is I dunno which type is the motherboard. All I know is that its brand which is Gigabyte. It'a a PII motherboard.
Does anyone know how to find out which motherboard type without taking the computer apart?:(

Shot in the dark...

Check at the bios boot-up, or check in the bios itself, it *may* tell you, may not...

There may be a program out there that does this, but if so, it eludes me right now.

Sorry I cant be of more help, maybe someone else knows of a program that does this...

Try this handy free utility its pretty cool.. It tells you everything that is in your sysyem hardware and software and serial numbers!
It's called Belarc Advisor, it should tell you what kind of motherboard you have..www.belarc.com/Home.html

You could use sisoft sandra which tells you all of the compoinenst and will also run bench marks on the computer, just another option for you... it costs though (is it against forum rules to post pay for software?)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
