Motherboard Chipset Incompatibility?

Note: Some PCs equipped with the VIA KT133a chipset might encounter problems with Command & Conquer Generals.

What the hell?

How can I fix this?

This was straight from the readme, what can I do?

that sucks.

i say go ahead and play it and hope you won't have problems. you "might" not.

if you do, make sure your video drivers and via 4in1's are up to date... and if you still have problems, you're gonna have to wait for a patch. or contact westwood/ea and try to see if you can return it because of your issue, which is more their fault than yours.

It doesn't work, it crashes with a "serious error" every 30 seconds, other people with the chipset have had problems too.

Not that this is the best solution, but you might be able to find an old board based on the AMD 761 chipset for real cheap. You might lose a bit of performance though.

If the 4in1's don't help you, looks like it's time for an upgrade.
