I am going to buy a Memory Stick Pro 256 Mb card for my digital camera, however i have two options.

    Option 1
    Sony 256MB Memory Stick Pro
    £120.11

    Option 2
    SanDisk 256MB Memory Stick Pro
    £81.06

There is a difference of about £40. Why are SanDisk so much cheaper? Are they as good as the Sony ones?

Please help me decide which one I should get?

    Many Thanks

    Jason

I hadn't heard of SanDisk either till now.

In the description of the SanDisk one it says:

"The new format, which was jointly developed by Sony and SanDisk"

So I think it should be ok, otherwise like you said i can always return it!

Anyone had any experience with sandisk memory sticks before?

SanDisk is a respectable company. They are well-known here in the states. They are the original creators of SmartFlash if I am correct...

I have 2 128MB SanDisk cards and 1 32MB SanDisk card. All of them work great. SanDisk also makes an ULTRA series of cards what boast they have higher write times, but I do not know the specifics.

Well... the Ultra Series is only available in CompactFlash. CompactFlash was developed by SanDisk.
