This message is reported persistently by Norton WinDoctor.

Missing File: "C:\WINDOWS\System32\MAPISRVR.EXE"
"C:\WINDOWS\System32\MAPISRVR.EXE" cannot access a necessary file, "gapi32.dll."

The inaccessible dll is one of the very few faults that's not automatically repairable by Windoctor. Although it doesn't seem to be causing any obvious trouble, I was curious and went looking. Found it at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT\GAPI32.DLL

Anyone know what it is and what if anything I should do about it?

I don't know but I get exactly the same result with WinDoctor.

Norton just is not looking in the right place for it. Do a search on your computer for GAPI32.DLL. If you did an upgrade you should have 2. One is located C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\Mapi\1033\95old
The new one is here C:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\Mapi\1033\NT
Copy the one from the NT folder and put it in C:\windows\system32
That will keep Norton happy and you should be good to go.

Thanks Conard. Yesterday I discovered that file and done exactly what you suggested. WinDoctor now finds no errror.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
