This card uses Via's superb Envy24 HT (not to be confused with the cheaper and inferior HT-S) sound processor. MSRP is $129.99, but after searching high and low, I found it on Amazon for under $50. Considering that most places sell it for $90-$120, it's a steal.

Better at everything than the Creative X-Fi except 3d gaming...

Sorry, but I wouldn't go that far.

You're right. I forgot to include proprietary Creative features like EAX. But it is definitely better at what I like to call "not crackling".

Not even in the same class either. The gold tips are much nicer on the X-fi, compared to the colored tips on this card :s

What part of the audio signal do the gold tips conduct? The answer will surprise you. Anyway, I'm editing my initial post. People are missing the mountain for the trees.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
