looking for an affordable printer

could any1 recommend me any? plz not any canons b/c im kinda anti-canon since 2 of my past canon printers pissed me off a lot. i'm looking for....
100-150 dollar price range
good DPI (for photos)
fast or atleast decent rates (above 10ppm)
color replacement catridges (so i can save money)
cheap ink

Try the hp 5050. Do a search on epinions.com for reviews. About $100 us. It works great for photos and text.

I'd personally look at the Epson range... HP ink is a lot more expensive than Epson ink in the UK. Not sure about the prices elsewhere though

HP DeskJet 3820. given the right paper, it does marvelous photos. if you want to spend a little more and are really into photos, go for their Photosmart 7150.

price doesn't matter for me that much b/c theres refill tanks and theres this cool site i found called 123inkjets.com and it sells ink tanks really cheap! over 50% cheaper than retail.

I just made my opinion off your original post (which actually mentioned that you were looking for an "affordable printer" with cheap ink)

xsivforce: I agree, both are very good.

I find Lexmarks to be quite loud, but quality wise... they're really good.

Hmm, Sorry but I just got a Cannon I820 that I love. 6 tank photo printer for $79. Great pictures, including true flesh tones. The individual tanks for all 6 colors work good on ink costs too especially with color picture printing.

My last was an Epson, never again. Noisy POS, head got clogged regularly and went beyond unclogging recently and its a factory repair.

The new Cannon has a user replaceable head. (Probably cheaper to buy a new printer but WTH.)

A friend got an HP that he's happy with quiet, reliable but only 4 ink tanks so his flesh tones are off (so are his pictures)...

The new HP ink cartridges have a smart chip that prevents refilling and lie about how much ink is left. Be warned!

my canon s520 clogs up all the time. anyway do u have a link for those replaceable heads?
