Another lil tidbit of info I stumbled upon:
just to warn everyone, you can ONLY use longhorn for 14 days unless you activate. and you MUST activate with a .net key that is LEGIT. if you have activated .net already YOU CANNOT ACTIVATE LONGHORN. if u want to activate lognhorn, u must get a legit key from M$ through the cpp, and activating that way. otherwise it WILL NOT WORK.

Luckily for me i got a legit un-activated .NET key :)
but also i've read somewhere you can bypass the whole activation fiasco by fiddling with some files.
I'll try find some more info on that tho

Ok, from what i can gather, the same Boot guide that is posted at windowsxp.nu and various other places will actually make the longhorn cd bootable, also the same methods of using files to remove activation from XP Pro (Dunno which files...never had to try it :D) will remove the 14-Day "Time Bomb" and last but not least there IS a version on the net without all the xBeta's "Branding" all over it (not that it makes f-all difference :))

I have the whole ISO, but I think I'll just wait till it reaches beta stages.

    h*tp://xbetas.com/modules.php?name=NukeNews&req=article&sid=765
(notice the * in http... dont want them to get a reffereal from here:))

Yes... .net CD-Key... once activated.. can be activated about another 100 times cos of a little glitch M$ caused in the .net activation engine... the activation thing pops up at odd times after you have already activated :p - had to phone them and get a new activation code every other time i reboot my server, running .net enterprise...

OMFG im actually back on the forums for a minute........

Anyway, each .NET Server CPP RC1 key is valid for 10 activations. You can activate 10 times on each key. Being beta software, MS expects testers to have to resintall at times, or test on multiple machines. Therefore each valid issued CPP key is valid to TEN online activations.
