ElementalDragon, you can disable it in Services, and I think it's also removable from Add/Remove Programs > Windows components.

Not sure though, since I'm not really using Longhorn.

Same for me with that dashboard, crashed a lot, so i just killed it in the end

Yep if you desable or un-install WinFS and do some tweeking in the serviace's menu of admin tools you will be suprised at how much faster things become, hell longhorn runs faster on my pc than xp does will all the eyecandy turned off

surge, is the WinFS thing in Windows XP home or pro or both? if it's in home or if you're not sure, could you please tell me EXACTLY where to find it?

its in longhorn, not XP..

I'm still holding out on installing it, if my mate creates a bootable cd right them i mite give it a shot in VMware

Goto Start/controlpannel/admintools/serviaces
and you will find it in the list just stop and desable it and then click logon tab and Desable again. then it wont bouther you anymore .
