    Have a problem here.
It's happened a few times now...

my windows login screen pops up as it should if i step away. and when i try to get back on, suddenly it says i have to enter a password.

i have another user on my computer, and its the same thing with their profile. they need to enter a password.

the only way around it is to reboot.

i say, what a pain in the ass.
    any thoughts?

    Specs:
    P4 @ 3.2GHz, Asus P4C800, 1024 DDR

no, never have set any passwords for anything.
the welcome screen for some reason locks both users out, insisting on passwords to be entered....

    but there is no passwords.
after a reboot, I can login just by clicking.

the problem is recent. it hasnt always existed.
i wish i could isolate exactly when it started happening.

Have you tried just pressing enter when it asks for password?

Go into user management and see if you have it set to enter a password ... That is about all I can see the problem to be .. I know you said you don't have it set to add one. But it might have be set by default or someone else ..
