Does Linksys ever update their filmware. And when they do does it work!
My BEFCMU10 v.2 modem can only handle so many connections when downloading before it chokes itself out and my ISP gets cut off. Anybody know if there are any 3rd party filmware developers out there. :)

I've had my Linksys firmware upgraded since I bought one of their products back during Xmas period.

Ver 1 and 2 have not been updated in a year. Ver 3 are the ones that are more up to date.

    But...

You should really really read this... Big security problem:

Damn that sucks. A couple weeks ago my friend had his Linksys hacked and that was with the latest firmware. But not the newer BEFSR41 model. The router has become so darn popular.

Kinda shiitty if ya ask me. Such a well known and popular brand, you'ld think they would have their shiit together.

Hmm, maybe thats why mine hasn't frozen up lately, I switched the DHCP duties to my webserver.

Sometimes at night I would all of a sudden loose my net connection. I couldn't access the net or the router's config, I had to go in the basement and reset it.

I have an earlier version (prob one with the security prob), am I ok since I don't use the router's DHCP?
