knoppix boot

i love lilo but somehow it dmagaed my multi-boot and left my XPpro unbootable. i tried 'fdisk /mbr' and it was no good.

can anyone tell me if there was a way too boot knoppix other than lilo. like 'loadlin' or by using the XP bootloader?

ya but it can be installed on your HD. i just want to know if a debian system can be booted using loadlin. bcoz i believe loadlin is the safest way. thanks

sure you can use lilo to boot any linux distro.

you can't boot knoppix off the hdd it's cd bootable, if you want to load linux off the hdd then just get the linux os, SuSE is not bad

i installed knoppix in my harddisk. i got it to work by installing lilo on the root partition of knoppix. saved the boot sector to a file. copied it to the windows boot drive and pointed to it in the NT bootloader
