If your running DSL or Cable which you obviously are, I wouldn't even mess with KaZaA anymore. I would say the last 8 out of 10 games I've downloaded straight from the "search" have ended up being fake games or corrupted files. Even the verified links using sig2dat are "out of order" or not verified. Try giving the mIRC program a go. You'll have more success and download from others that have cable and not 56K's who are sucking the life out of the system..

Seems alot of irc servers are starting to get fussy about file shareing ..and with reason IRC was made as a place for people to meet and talk ... plus the legal battles that are on the horizon IRC channels need to protect themselves

theres alot of legitimate reasons to download off P2P so shut it and as it looks another person is having same problems so dont imply that im downloading pirated stuff just cuz someone wanted to post a reply considering i do

Can you give me one ??? All programs are copyrighted and so all most off all songs those that are not are freely availiable from the WWW .... ie games demos, applications, and anything else we all know that p2p is 99% pirated games , apps or songs ....

While I agree that a huge amount of P2P files are copyrighted, there are also thousands of music and video files that are legal, as well as shareware and such. So I would have to say that it's a stretch to consider that 99% are illegal. I don't believe that using KaZaA is equivalent to piracy, and so it's not fair to imply that someone is using it for that purpose. Likely, yes, but that's not enough to make an accusation.

No need to make an accusation here 8 out of the last 10 games ?

look i dont care either way but anything you need that is legal could be found without a p2p network ... and now irc is going to be dragged into it and when the script kiddies get mad they will attack the irc channels like they are with dalnet and we will end up loosing IRC ...

I agree! I only go for the legal way, makes me feel much better. Personally I would not mind if Kazaa went away, so much bugs, virus and spyware..and so much crap to download anyway! Like someone here said..8 out 10 games are fake! That is true. Never believe what you see...

The one thing I have trouble finding without a P2P client is live music/bootlegs. While some might say that bootlegs are illegal as well, many bands actually have taping policies that allow shows to be recorded. The tracks can be freely distributed, not sold of course. For this reason I love P2P... because otherwise I'd have to be searching for hours for an FTP server hosting these files, and then many times I'd have to get a ratio account and upload a ton of files first. So yeah, plenty of legal stuff to grab still.

I believe that if the record companies made the Albums cheep enough ppl would not bother D/Ling them from Kazaa, exactly the same with Films - Demanded/Overpriced/Ripped just sounds like Morning/Day/Night to me. The problem I have is that with a lowly AOL56k connection its not feasible it would take me Morning/Day/Night to get anything.
