Hi,

Hope someone out thier can help with this problem, ive just brought a DVD-RW drive and added it to mysytem, but i still want to use the other CD-RW drive which i had in thier before, but im unsure of what jumper settings and ide cables i should use.

Currently onethe primary cable it has one which goes to the HD and one attachment spare......

Secondary is set as one attachment to the second HD and one to the CD-RW drive........ which ive now connected to the DVD-RW drive soo the CD-RW drive isnt working............

Is thier a way where i can have both HD Disks working and both CD drives working if so can someone please explain how (Cables) and what the jumper settings should be on each drive and hard disk.

Many thx for any help in advance...............

hi and thx its a bit of help, but still unsure of what channels to put the certain devices and what jumper settings they should be, i cant seem to find a set up which had a cd drives and 2 hard drives to copy from......................

Is it possible to put the CD drives on one channel and HD on another ??? and if soo would one be set as a master and one as a slave for both the cd and hd ???

This is the way I would do it.

Connect the DVD-RW and the CD-RW on to the one cable and that will be connected to the IDE 2 slot on the motherboard. Make either the DVD or CD-RW the master and other one the slave.

Now connect the two HDD’s on to the primary cable connected to IDE 1 on the motherboard, making the HDD that has your operating system the master and the second HDD the slave.

I hope this helps.

yep smokie thats it. dragonheart just follow what smokie said and you will be fine
