July Desktops!

oh yes, it's a new month, and a new desktop - this time i've abandoned the taskbar/icons combo altogether! who needs 'em anyway?

what program did you use to make that desktop?
it look very nice.

well, i'm using geoshell as a replacement for the windows shell, which provides the bars (includes menus, systray, and email auto-checker) and i'm also using coolmon for the dynamic info on the desktop (system stats, winamp title etc). my wan ip (i'm using a NAT router, is from a little vb program specifically written for my network, and outputs to a text file, which coolmon picks up - i'm proud of that lol).

that's it really. the wallpaper i got with the [noir] theme for litestep (which i no longer like beacuse of it's huuuge memory footprint.

Is it safe to use?
I don't want to download it and have to re-format my computer like stylexp did to me

ah well style xp is shockingly bad, i agree - personally i edited my uxtheme.dll using a hex editor, and now i can use themes no problem - but geoshell isn't quite the same thing, it doesn't just 'skin' windows, it replaces your desktop interface. make sure you know what you're doing (it's not that hard once you've read up on it a bit) and you'll be fine. to make sure, i'd recommend ShellOn, it's a shell selector program which is v good.

sorry to bother you agian but how did you make that task bar appear? and how did you those to your desktop using ShellOn?
Can someone make a tutorial for this program? :-D
