I am able to play single player games. I CANNOT play multiplayer games.

Single player starts and runs normally. You know, Dbl-Click opens the Panel, Select Single Player. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH... Do whatever, exit... Everything is fine.

Multiplayer is a different story. Dbl-Click opens the Panel, Select Multiplayer, invokes an instance of the game engine... Once it gets to the processor detection I get an error and the game exits. Here is the Error report:

I don't get it... I hope someone can shed some light on it for me. I did download and install the latest nVidia drivers with the same result. I will update my signature shortly.

There are quite a few multiplayer problems i've been seeing with jedi knight..as of right now if I was you i'd try A re-install of it, or contact lucasarts support, you also might want to check out some of the gamespy forums and such as they usually are a bit quicker at resolutions for that type of problem...my multiplayer in jedi knight doesn't work for a completely different reason but I figure i'll bother fixing it once I get bored of dungeon siege :)

I have had no problems what-so-ever with single or multi player Jedi Knight II under windows XP so atleast you know that JKII does dislike XP for some reason.

Thanx guys. I already tried a reinstall. I think I will check out the gamespy forums first, then i'll checkout Ravensoft if I still need help.

eXpert - How did you change that? Mine says XPHome for some reason. I cant figure out how to fix it...

Its only reliant o post count, you will be zble to change it under the usercp too

Note that if you are using a NO-CD crack this can happen. It was also very common with Quake 3. Another thing is that somehow only the singleplayer nocd works. Jedi Outcast uses different launcher for SP & MP, SP can be patched and played without any problem but MP when patched, won't start or gives network errors.

I got it taken care of. It's not a crack. I don't believe in them. Why would I need to crack a legitimate copy?!

The jk2mp.exe has a processor affinity problem according to Lucas Arts. They provided me with a way to fix it, but it entails disabling one of my processors to do it. Yeah, kiss my @$$ too...

I did try it though. It works. But I had to rebuild my rig when I was done. I decided to just copy the game dir into my winex dir on my linux box. It runs perfectly, so I am playing it on my Linux box. ;)

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
