Shut down windows and restart. That should end the program.

And just to be safe, once windows restarts, reinstall iTunes. Your music library will get transfered with the reinstall, just as if you were updating it.

I would have thought a reboot was attempted, but I guess that's what I get for assuming :p

Another note, if you try to end a task and you receive an access denied error, the system should write to the event log. Start, run, eventvwr.msc

Look over the logs and see if any errors occured around the time that you tried to do it.

That didnt work.....also how do i tell what error for itunes is in the eventvwr.msc?

If shutting down didn't let you end it, I would try to un-install it because something is going screwy.

If it will not let you shut down and the program is not shutting down then the only alternative is to shut the machine down the old fashioned way.

Push the button/pull the plug/switch it off. Then reboot see if iTunes died, reinstall iTunes. Defrag HDDs and hopefully all is well again.

I think that he was able to reboot the PC without issue, but for some reason he still couldn't end the process. At least that is how I perceived it...

Ok i think i may have got some people lost. I uninstalled itunes>rebooted>reinstalled>Problem not fixed. I can shut my pc off without an issue, its when i try to end the ipodservice i get an error.

Also Hi EP and people. I found this place again while looking through a oooollllllldddd backup. I have filled over 10TB and was looking at my collection of antiques. Any bids on the 500Mhz Win 95 fix?
Any of the SP crew still out there?
