interrupted dial up

    i have a separate line for my computer,telemarketers are constantly calling that line and disconnecting me -is their a modem string that will prevent this?

    the only thing i can think of that would do that is if you have call waiting. otherwise they should just get a busy signal.
    in the dialling rules of your dial up connection is a option to disable call waiting, the number to disable it depends on your phone provider

    for iowa most of the phone companies it is *70. to see if this stops them just put it in front of the isp phone number.
