interesting wifi problem, input please

interesting problem for the life of me I can't figure out and this is probably a problem from this end not the site that causes the problem

anyway, when I use the public lan at a local coffee shop, as soon as I load this forum the router here refuses to transfer packets

I still have a connection, I still have an ip, everyone else in the place still uses the internet fine, but I have to "repair connection" to continue

I have a three laptops that I alternate and it happens on all of them so it's not a problem with my box, it only happens when I load this forum but it doesn't happen at any other lan location so it's got to be some kind of problem at this location

the site is not restricted at this location and it's not a filter thing

any ideas what to tell the lan administrator here to remedy the problem?

After the repair if you try and access the solstice site will it stop transfering packets again?

WAG, possibly intentional content filtering on the part of the LAN administrator? Solstice=>Wicken/Druid Related? Long shot.

Try other keywords like porn, sex, devil worship and see what happens.

PS Pontiac has a real sports car now?

you hit the nail on the head leejend and I didn't figure it out till after I posted the thread

this lan location has parental filters and I'm asuming there are some banned add servers running in the backround at that site, all I have to do is figure out which server is being banned and I'll block it locally from my box

that should do the trick

ya, it is, it wins just about every catagory it's allowed even with drivers that have hardly any experience at all

this car is amazing and I love it more every day

well, watching the status bar at the bottom it looks like google banner adds is what's hanging the parental filter

I can't cut the address from this bar, cut and paste doesn't work there, history doesn't show this link either

I want to paste the link into banned sites but I need to copy it first

someone have an idea how to see the history of add servers from my box?

does firefox have a better history record?

while I loved the mini it seems like it's starting to carry some "girly" baggage and I think I'm glad I didn't wind up with that car though it would have been far more practical

on a very suprising note, this car is supposed to get 31 mpg on the open road which is huge all by itself if it's true which most people think the estimates would be high


if I put it into cruise control at 62 mph I get 39.5 miles to the gallon, traveling i95 which is quite the hills and valleys

amazing for a car with all this power
